We gather monthly for meetings, trips and tournaments in promoting kayaking and fishing in addition to other fishing, outdoors, community and family-oriented events.  The club began meeting at Pack and Paddle in 2007 and in 2008 established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit growing to 60 members by the end of 2009.  We hold regular club meetings at Pack and Paddle on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6 PM.  We invite the public to all our meetings to come learn when, where and how to safely fish for redfish, speckled trout, flounder, bass and panfish.

LKFC looks for opportunities to help develop paddle-only launch sites along with supporting local communities and organizations where we fish.  In 2015 with the help of the Lafayette Paddle Club we were able to build a launch at Lake Martin.  The club enjoys a website community with 1000+ registered users, 160+ active members and 30-60 attending each meeting.   Contact us for Sponsorships, Advertisement Opportunities or Website Questions.

Some of LKFC's objectives-

  • LKFC looks to develop or support publicly accessible kayak/canoe launches.  The club works with various organizations and private land owners to develop, build and manage launches.  See the Choupique Bayou launch project.
  • Sponsor and volunteer marsh plantings to shore up our coastline.  See a Marsh Planting at Cote Blanche Bay.
  • CCA Louisiana supporter by promoting various CCA events such as the annual STAR tournament and the CCA Fish Tagging Program.  See one of our Tag Team Catch and Release events.
  • Have a monthly meeting to discuss club business and fishing related topics.  We plan trips, talk fishing, exchange ideas, kayak rigging, have special guests and coordinate to go fishing
  • Support local outdoors, fishing and conservation-related organizations in the area.
  • Tournaments are held through the Cajun Kayak Angler Series throughout the year.
  • Support the CCA tagging program through the TagTeam Catch and Release tournament.
  • Support Atchafalaya Swamp Base - a national conservation and high adventure recreation base created in 2010 by the Evangeline Area Council, Boy Scouts of America to commemorate the Centennial of Scouting while also making a 100 year commitment to annually immerse thousands of youth in the environment and culture of the Atchafalaya Swamp.  http://www.bsaswampbase.org/
